Printing a horizontal yearly calendar can provide something new - a break from the traditional blocky calendars. Description

Customizing the Calendar: The image below shows the settings within each spreadsheet that you can modify to customize your calendar. In addition to choosing the year, start month and start day, you can choose which days of the week to highlight as the weekend days. In the Weekend field, enter a string of 7 characters for Monday through Sunday, where 1 (one) is a weekend and 0 (zero) is a normal day.

Options for Customizing the Horizontal Calendar

Customizing Month and Weekday Labels: You can also use the Months and Weekdays columns to change the labels used in the calendar. For example, you may want to modify the month names for other languages or use different abbreviations.

Changing Colors and Fonts: To quickly choose a different combination of color and fonts, go to Page Layout > Themes and browse the options built into Excel. If you want to change some of the colors manually, you may need to used in these templates. Go to Home > Conditional Formatting > Manage Rules and select "This Worksheet" to see all of the rules used in the worksheet.

This version includes some common U.S. holidays and observances. The dates included in this worksheet will update automatically when you change the year and month.

Customizing the List of Holidays: If you want to edit the list of holidays, you can enter the dates for the holidays manually instead of using formulas. To change how the holidays are highlighted in the calendar, edit the conditional formatting rules (there is a separate rule to reference each column of dates).
